British actor Daniel Kaluuya has revealed that he will not be reprising his role as “W’Kabi” in the sequel for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

The actor starred in the first installment of the film as the head of security for the Border Tribe and best friend to Chadwick Boseman’s “T’Challa” in the 2018 blockbuster Black Panther.

The news of the actor’s exit from the film was announced by Rotten Tomatoes journalist Jacqueline Coley who wrote on Twitter, “Fresh from my Nope interview with Daniel Kaluuya; he did not reprise his role; in #BlackPanther2 due to his schedule conflicts w/ #NOPE!

Kaluuya stars in “Nope,” Jordan Peele’s most recent horror movie, which hits theatres on July 22nd.

Meanwhile, production for the Marvel sequel for “Black Panther” ended in March, and the film would hit cinemas on November 11th.

Fans wanted Boseman to be replaced in the major role, but Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, said that T’Challa’s character would not be recast or digitally recreated.

Fellow actor Letitia Wright previously stated that the film would “honour” the late Boseman, who passed away in August 2020 from colon cancer.

Wright faced criticism in 2021 after sharing an anti-vax Twitter. She has, however refuted the assertion that she voiced anti-vaccine sentiments while filming Black Panther 2.
